Members of North Apollo VFD are pleased to announce that NAVFD and Apollo Hose Company #3 VFD are in the process of consolidating the 2 depts. The depts. have entered into this consolidation voluntarily, to improve our service to each of our communities. Over the past years the volunteer fire service has seen a drastic decline in membership, coupled with a down fall of the economy. As a result, it has become harder for the volunteers to raise the funds and keep up with the safe number of fire fighters to respond to emergencies. By consolidating into one department, we will no longer need to raise the funds to maintain 2 fire stations. This will cut cost to each municipality by streamlining services, reducing duplicated equipment, and increase the number of responding volunteers. All of which helps us provide & maintain a high level of service to our communities. We have and always will put the safety of the citizens we serve and protect the highest priority of our dept. The depts. will host a public meeting for questions and answers in the near future, which will be posted at a later date. Please refrain from posting questions or concerns on social media. All questions and concerns can be addressed at the public meeting, open to all residents within the 2 boroughs of North Apollo & Apollo
